In a series as prolific as Naruto, it's absolutely normal for some script errors to slip through the cracks. It is even more normal that some errors happen due to some kind of lack of knowledge by the author about topics that are beyond common sense. For example, the lunar cycle, in the long term, can be difficult to describe.
The day Naruto was born, in the series, was one of the most important days in shinobi history. Not only was it the birth of the most powerful ninja of all time, it was also the day of death for Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki. It was the day of the Nine Tails Attack on Konoha. And, curiously, the night where all this happened was lit by a Full Moon.
Exactly 17 years later, the Fourth Shinobi World War was coming to an end with the defeat of Kaguya Otsutsuki by the combined efforts of Team 7. On a night curiously well lit by a Full Moon.
And by "curiously" I mean absolutely impossible.
The problem is that the lunar cycle lasts around 29 days, or four weeks. That is, exactly 17 years after a Full Moon, our natural satellite would be in another phase.
And do you know what that means about the world of Naruto? That's right, absolutely nothing. But nobody bothered to check if the script was astronomically valid or, if it arrived, they preferred not to call.
