In this guide, we'll teach you how to become a Paladin of Perjury in Baldur's Gate 3.

In the world of Baldur's Gate 3, paladins are known as paragons of virtue and righteousness. Each is sworn to uphold all that is good according to the oath he has sworn, and all are expected to follow such oaths without fail. However, that doesn't mean that paladins can't go against their promise.

A Paladin of Perjury is exactly what it sounds like – a Paladin who has gone against his creed, whether he wanted to or not. This is obviously a bad thing for virtuous Baldur's Gate 3 players who want to keep their character true to RP, but everyone else who wants to dabble in the dark side of the divine might want to voluntarily break their oaths for a different kind of power.

Baldur's Gate 3 – How to Become a Paladin of Perjury

Generally speaking, if a paladin does something unbecoming of one of his kind, the holy blessing from which he draws power will be rescinded. There are some nuances to each Paladin's Oath beyond just being a roleplaying trick, and some acts might not be as unforgivable for one oath compared to another based on their respective Principles.

Paladins under the Oath of Elders, on the other hand, are sworn to be champions of love and kindness. Any act of malice, such as killing the Owl's hatchling in the cave or killing Arabella in the Emerald Grove, will lead to the annulment of the Oath of the Ancients.

Breaking an oath will cause the Perjured Knight to visit the player. Speak with him at camp to formally become a Paladin of Perjury.
